Dear Minister,
We would like to draw your attention to the imprisonment of Rev. Haile Naizgi of the “Full Gospel Church”, Rev. Kifle Gebremeskel of the “Eritrean Evangelical Alliance” and Rev. Tesfatsion Hagos of the “Rema Evangelical Church”. They are among the up to 2,800 prisoners detained, partly under miserable circumstances, for simply exercising their right of religious liberty in accordance with article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of the United Nations. We are also very concerned that the deposed Orthodox Patriarch Abune Antonios is still under house arrest.
In your function as Minister of Justice, we ask you to do all in your power to provide for the release of all religious prisoners.
